Legally....Blogged?

As I embark on the beginning of a new collegiate career in law school, I realize that I should also give a nod to the $60,000+ spent on my past education. Therefore, I carry on the tradition of English majors who find that they're not currently writing a novel that will land them a segment on Oprah. So then, I write in complete, semi-grammatically correct sentences, and tell you not of some fascinatating character, but of a plethora of unfascinating events that happen daily to.....me.

Stars v. Hearts

It wasn't until I spotted my gal, Andee, donning her fab James Avery sterling silver bracelet made of many small, connected stars, did I realize the true battle between the preference for stars versus hearts. You see, I noticed her bracelet because I own the opposing 'hearts' version, and I realized my actual preference for stars when I began a small lust for her design. After this life-changin revelation, I started to notice that anything that comes in a heart-form also has a star-studded twin. Herein lies the true, fiery rivalry between pony-tailed jewelers everywhere - absolutely NOTHING to do with the difference between brilliant and princess cut diamonds and EVERYTHING to do with hearts and stars. Plain and simple.

Not that there's anything wrong with hearts...or stars, but I suppose that after many jr. high and high school years of receiving heart jewelry, I've found myself seeking some independence in the jagged design of a 5-point star. My mother says that she prefers the "sweetness" of the heart. But really - it doesn't matter - because no matter where you are on the stars v. heart spectrum, there will always be jewelry to suit your needs from James Avery to Tiffany to any diamond store you can find. And there's always the heart exception for me: I have a sweet Tiffany heart keychain that I probably will never lose affinity for.

What do you think? Hearts or Stars? :-) And don't say you don't care.....

Considering I made a rather large Tiffany purchase of a giant heart necklace, I'm siding with the hearts...sorry Andee!
